The Capital Campaign at Maimonides School helps finance the major needs of our organization, including construction, renovations, or endowment. It allows for needed expansions and improvements in our buildings and facilities, and helps secure our financial future. This campaign affords the Maimonides community and other generous benefactors the opportunity to contribute to the tangible growth of our Jewish education. Buildings and Facilities Capital needs, however, are not limited to new buildings. They are an ever-present reality in education today. Whether retrofitting a science laboratory, adding state-of-the-art technology, or upgrading energy-saving equipment, our administrators oversee a continual array of capital projects that help define the breadth and quality of a Maimonides School education. For details on ongoing projects, including those that can be named in honor or in memory of a loved one, contact the Development Office at 617-232-4452 x410. Endowment Endowment funds are established through gifts designated by donors and from unrestricted capital gifts that trustees may designate. The most common fund established by donors at Maimonides is an endowed scholarship, the income from which provides scholarships for children in need of tuition relief. The first Maimonides Endowed Scholarship was established in 1967 with a generous gift of $150,000. This precedent has been followed over the years by many individuals and families, and today there are more than 160 endowed funds providing Maimonides students with financial assistance. Many donors add to the principal regularly, sometimes for decades. Establishing an Endowed Scholarship is a great way to help make a Maimonides education accessible to every child, regardless of ability to pay. It is also a great way to honor or memorialize a loved one. An endowment fund can be established in someone’s name for a minimum contribution of $18,000. For more information on establishing a named fund, designated for scholarship or some other worthy cause, please contact the Development Office at 617-232-4452 x410. All Capital Campaign contributions are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law.
